4 month jabs/check up and catch up

I know I'm a bit behind updating again but we have been busy with visitors the last week. Bella's grandparents came over and we've just dropped them off at the airport. She had a lovely time with them and I think her grandad is her new best friend! Anyway, Bella had her jabs and health check last week and is doing so well. She now measures 65cms in length and weighs 14lb 9oz. She was great with the jabs also and fell asleep straight after. The doctor suggested we start introducing a little baby rice, pureed fruits and cereal this month so we have started on a few spoonfuls of baby rice for her tea and a little cereal in the morning. She seems to love it and her little legs start kicking in excitment when she sees the bowl and spoon and she opens her mouth ready for it. We're going to introduce some pureed apple and pear next week. She is sleeping really well at night now and is going for about 11 hours overnight. She is teething again though so is having a few problems with them.

In the last week she has perfected rolling over from her back to her tummy and is also trying to pull herself to sit up on her own. Quite a way to go yet, but she is making great progress. She has a new sound and makes an "mmmmmm" sound over and over and over again...!

I just had to share...

...my new favourite photo. Chris took this one last night when she was fresh out the bath and I think it is absolutely stunning.

Semana Santa

You've got to love Spain and its fiesta days. It's easter week so Chris has had a couple of days off and we've been blessed with great weather so have holidayed at home making the most of the gardens and pool in our new place. It's been lovely to lie out and relax. Bella had some good sleeps in her stroller and chilled out on the blanket. All this fresh air is making her sleep so well. I hope I don't regret saying that later and have just jinxed myself! Last night she slept from 10pm through to 9am without waking for one feed. Now there's progress!

4 months old today

I don't know where the time is going! Bella is doing so well and adding new skills to her repertoire each week. She can now roll from back to tummy too. Her bottom teeth are properly through and growing well. She's found a new game of squeaking her dummy on her teeth. It was cute to begin with! She's now going to bed on her own at night in her big cot and managing to last about 5 hours in there before stirring and coming into bed with us. She's managing to sleep 10 hours straight overnight too. She has a new bush pig type high pitched squeal in her vocal range now. Beware those with hangovers! I wonder what this month will bring....!

Rolling over

Bella managed her first ever proper roll today. She's gone from her back to her side before but today during tummy time she pushed herself off and went fully onto her back. Luckily Chris was here too to witness it. We were both very proud! It's great to see all these changes and witness the little mini milestones in her development. She's great with tummy time now too and holds her little head up so well. Last night she was so proud of herself she laughed away!

Bottom teeth through

Finally after about a week of grumbling, crying, screaming and restlessness Bella has her two bottom teeth through. Monday night I gave her the chilled teething ring to bite on and she really went to town on it. When I went to put the teething gel on before bed I could feel that one of her bottom teeth had cut through the surface of the gum. Tuesday morning they were both through. I can't believe she has them through so early. I'm hoping for a bit of a break now before the next ones decide to show up!
